Anonymised · Independent garage
Car workshop
Prices before the call, opening status in real time — and a rating deliberately left switched off.
The brief
An independent garage for all makes whose old site came out of a website builder. Anyone looking for a garage wants three things before they dial: are you open now, what does the inspection cost, do you take my make. The page is built in exactly that order.
Decisions
- 01
The opening status works itself out
The top of the page carries the answer, not the weekly table: “Open now · until 18:00”. Calculated from the real hours with today highlighted — the most common question is answered before the first scroll.
- 02
The full price list is on the page
Thirteen items with prices and both caveats spelled out beside them. A garage that shows its numbers wins the call against one that writes “price on request”.
- 03
The rating stays off
It was to appear only at 4.7 or above. The only verifiable score was a single review twelve years old, so the badge is off. The component is finished and switches itself on once a real figure comes from the owner.
- 04
The expired promotion is shown as expired
Their discount ran until 1 August 2026. Rather than quietly keep advertising it, it carries an “expired” flag and a request for a new date.
Result
Everything from the old site is carried over: thirteen services, the winter check, the complete price list, opening hours, imprint and privacy. Added on top: the language switch, the tap-to-call bar, a consent-gated map and AutoRepair structured data. The fonts are served from the site's own server — the page contacts no third-party host at all.
